Indicative specification. The right-hand column is what the sample record confirms.
| Spec | Commonly available | Confirmed on the sample record |
|---|---|---|
| Dry weight | 350 g, 400 g (others on request) | Weighed with and without the socket — stated on the record |
| Yarn | Microfibre blend, looped ends | Blend and yarn count as declared by the manufacturer |
| Tailband | Narrow or wide band, stitched | Band width and stitch rows measured |
| Fitting | Plastic screw socket or no socket (for clip handles) | Fit checked against your reference handle, not a generic one |
| Colour | Red, yellow, blue, green — colour-coded yarn or tailband | Matched to the approved sample |
| Packaging | Bulk bag, individual polybag or header card; neutral (unbranded) or your own label | Carton count, carton size and marks confirmed before production |
| MOQ | Published factory MOQs often start near 1,000 pcs per spec | Trial quantities and mixed colours negotiated per order |
Ranges reflect what manufacturers commonly offer and published listings. They are not a quotation. Compatibility with your equipment is confirmed only by your own test on a physical sample.
Where this refill usually goes wrong.
Weight that includes the socket
A “400 g” head can be 360 g of yarn plus a 40 g socket. The record always states which.
Thread that almost fits
Socket threads vary between handle brands. A head that screws on two turns and then binds will fail in the field.
Shrinkage and fraying after laundering
Loop ends and tailband stitching are where cheap heads fail. Ask for a sample you can wash yourself before ordering.
Colour run
Red and blue dyes are the usual offenders. A colour-coded head that bleeds defeats the point of colour coding.
What to send for a useful first reply.
With these, the first reply can be a spec comparison rather than a list of questions.

- A photo of the socket next to a ruler
- Weight you buy today and whether it includes the socket
- Colours and monthly volume
